I have heard about the amazing hiking in the alps, but want really prepared for the past two days. Based from the Birkl's house in St Anton am Arlberg, we have hiked both days to the south side of the valley for some wunderschön views.

Buckley the Wandering Bison visits the Alps |
Thursday's hike took us into the Rosanna Schlucht (canyon) on our way to
Konstanzer Hütte. Instead of going up a mountain, we went around and ended to the site of the first row of peaks south of the valley. This have us a view around them while gaining only ~380m.

At the high point of the hike, Patteriol behind |
We sat down on the sunny deck to a tall Weitzen and ordered lunch: selchschopf (sliced ham) for me with saurkraut and sliced knödel, Christoph ordered linguine. For dessert we had apfel strudel and palatschinkin (crepes) filled with ice cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce, and served with two large dollops of shipped cream. If Tyrol didn't have mountains and trails, I would already be a meter wide!

The way back down was faster, and we passed Edeltraud as she came up on her road bike. That lady never stops moving!
