MWRT Part 7: Idaho Falls

Driving down I-15 through Idaho, arrived at M's brother and sister-in-law's place in Eastern Idaho. We spent a while with them walking the dogs and had a great dinner in Idaho Falls. After dinner we went to where M and I were spending the night, left our cars, and walked in the cool evening air through the parks that are built along the river. In the morning, before it got too warm, M and I went on another walk through the same park. It was lovely!

After a quick breakfast at our hotel, we went back to the Japanese Pavillion we had visited in the dark the evening before.  It is on an island in the river, where the "high water" side flows to a power generation plant. The running water and shade was lovely. We spent a few moments just hanging out by the river and relaxing before our drive to Utah...

The water level at the falls was surprisingly high for it already being mid-July. We wallked the island end to end to look at their pwer generation setup. Upstream, there was water running over a spillway and flying off the hydraulic jump. Downstream, a bulb generator pumped out power to the grid at its point of use downtown. it was as much fun walking through the garden as it was to nerd out for a bit over their hydraulic engineering!
