M and I spent last week road tripping. It was so much fun! We loaded up the Rav4 on Saturday morning with borrowed tent and camp stove, Chaco sandals, and a week's supply of Cliff bars and pepperoni sticks (thanks, friends and Costco!). Then we drove south and west to our first range of mountains, and onwards from there...
Our first stop was in the Kootenay region of South Eastern British Columbia. We spent the night with Nana and Grandpa, and then drove Highway 3. The "big" mountains began as we dropped into Cranbrook. We wound around them until we crested the Crow's Nest Pass and passed
Frank's Slide, where a mountainside slid down nearly 100 years ago and buried at least 70 people. M was shocked at the size of the boulder field. It looked like it had come down yesterday!
